White Bread Recipe

Bread can seem overwhelming to make, but it really doesn’t take much effort!

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbs dry active yeast
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbs melted butter
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 5 cups bread flour (regular will work too)

Directions

  1. Mix the warm water, yeast, and honey together.
  2. Set aside for 10 minutes until bubbly. 
  3. Add in melted butter, salt, and only 4.5 cups of flour. 
  4. Mix in a kitchen aid mixer until smooth or knead by hand. 
  5. Add in the other .5 cups of flour and mix until smooth. 
  6. Cover and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour until the dough is doubled.
  7. Punch the dough and cut it into two sections (this recipe will create two loaves). 
  8. Use a rolling pin to flatten it and then roll it. 
  9. Place into a buttered bread container, cover, and let it rise for another hour until doubled.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 
  11. Dough should be hard and golden brown on top

You know the bread is done when it is hard on top and golden brown. Wait an hour in a-half until you cut into it. It should be fully cooled or else it can collapse when you cut into it. The video below shows these steps and is where I found the original recipe!
