Pensacola Beach, Florida

Christmas break is coming up quickly, and maybe not quick enough for some of us! One of my favorite destinations to get away is Pensacola Beach, Florida. You know it is a favorite when my family has gone to the same spot multiple times. If you want to stay at a lovely place with tennis courts, outdoor pools, a spa, and a lifestyle center, then you have to check out the condos at Portofino. They have gorgeous views of the gulf from the balcony, and often you can see dolphins jumping in pods. Or take a walk down the beach to clear your head and relax. Or rent out a small place from Airbnb. There are many different options. Add Pensacola Beach to your Bucket List!

My bestie and I decided a few years ago to take a girls’ trip to my favorite spot in Florida. She had never been to Florida, and I felt comfortable at Pensacola Beach since I had been there a few times. My husband’s aunt also lived there at the time, so we also had someone to watch over us. Not like we were young, we were in our upper 20s, but we had never gone anywhere without our husbands! We have been friends since 3rd grade, and we never took a trip ourselves.

We had so much fun! It was one of my favorite trips! Our road trip started by leaving at 4 am to get to Flordia in the evening. We read books on the beach, went kayaking, and shopping. We had our butts poked by crabs when laying on the sand at night (yes it was terrifying). Then we almost died from birds attacking us while biking (look out for the signs saying birds nesting). We biked as fast as we could to escape the birds! My bestie took off and I had no idea she could peddle so fast, and she left me in the dust!

Most importantly, we laughed constantly and soaked in all the sun! Probably a little too much sun since we both ended up sunburnt, but either way, it was a blast. I highly recommend taking a girls’ trip or a guys’ trip sometime in your life. It is different than going with your significant other or your family.
